The State of Agile in 2009

VersionOne have released their fourth annual State of Agile Development Survey results for 2009

I still find it odd that people regard things like coding standards, refactoring and unit testing, as agile techniques; even continuous integration and automated builds. These techniques are just good software engineering practice and should be used everywhere, irrespective of whether you are trying to be agile or not.

Lack of experience with agile methods was the largest reported cause of failed agile projects. Though it's not clear whether the report means failed projects that were supposed to be agile or projects where the agility failed.
